Assassin's Creed Live-Action Netflix Series Announced

Netflix and Ubisoft have officially announced a live-action Assassin’s Creed series is in development, marking the franchise’s return to screens for the first time since the 2016 film, If you've not watched this....I wouldn't rush to see it.

Details are still early, but the series is being produced under a broader content deal between Ubisoft Film & Television and Netflix, with plans for multiple Assassin’s Creed projects down the line, including potential animated and anime adaptations.

The live-action show is expected to explore new characters and timelines, rather than retelling the story of Ezio or Altair directly. That said, early concept art and internal leaks suggest there’ll still be strong visual ties to fan-favourite eras.

Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Côté says the studio wants the series to “respect the lore while telling a story that works for long-form TV.” With Roberto Patino ('Westworld') and David Wiener ('HALO') will be serving as the showrunners, However, as far as we can tell no casting decisions have been made public.

This isn’t Netflix’s first foray into video game adaptations, the streamer already found major success with The Witcher, Arcane, and Castlevania. With Assassin’s Creed, they’ll be hoping to build another flagship.

No release date yet, but we’ll be watching closely with our Eagle Eye vision.
